Three Deaths

THREE DEATHS

I Never Thought

 I never thought

I’d die

I knew I would

But here I am

Can someone

Please

Turn off that light

Shining in my eyes

Last Will

My brother and I standing at the bed

together, the two of us

who never agreed on anything but this.

The beeping and buzzing stopped.

What was left of our father stopped too.

In the great quiet that followed,

I swear I heard him say,

Thank God.

That Feeling

Watching the spinning

beachball of death,

knowing

it’s too late

to hit save

My work

is done
